Michael has over 20 years of experience in the industrial automation market and is an internationally recognized expert in Semiconductor Equipment Automation.
In 1983 Michael co-founded Techware Systems, a company that helped pioneer tool automation in the semiconductor industry. After Techware was purchased by Brooks Automation in 1996 Michael stayed on as part of the Brooks management team, and in addition to continuing to run the controls division, was involved in several technology acquisitions, and had overall business responsibility for several product groups within the Brooks portfolio.
Over the last 20 years Michael has participated at many technical forums, been an invited speaker at the APC symposium, and published numerous articles on topics covering tool control architectures, e-diagnostics, host communication standards and advanced process controls.
During this period of time Michael has overseen the delivery of thousands of controls solutions to both FABS and OEMS covering almost all of the semiconductor processes as well as processes for the FPD, magnetic media and optical markets. Michael’s strong technical background, and years of business experience, has allowed him to balance the delivery of leading edge control solutions with the need to meet market windows and evolving requirements, while maintaining quality standards.
